This short story is about a big brother taking care of his sister every time their mother decides to go out or has a new Boyfriend, who then she decides to not always spend time with her kids but with the boyfriend.
In this story the character I found interesting was Hema, the reason why was because I can relate to what he is doing even though I am not the oldest or a boy I can still relate by the way he takes care of his little sister, it is pretty much the same way I take care of my little brother, but we would never try to leave our mother, and even if we fight so many times we both know we still love and care for each other in some kind of way.
The message I took from this short story was
The challenges that Hema had to take was difficult having to be both brother and parent for his little sister, and there is janey having to put up with all this drama in her family at such a young age.
