Analyse why language features were used to create a vivid setting.

What is a vivid setting?

Vivid setting helps shows the reader or watcher a clear vision on the book or movie, so that the person will be able to understand and get more of a picture.

Wild pork and watercress is a Novel written by Barry Crump, it is about a man named Hec who eventually in the book tries to hide in the bush, to get away from all problems and a young juvenile delinquent who is trying to runaway from everyone and problems. Crump tries to create a vivid setting using a variety of languages features.

Hi Kahu.
A few things to consider:
-You need to get some more down on the blog. Read the question and have a think about the story and what sort of language features are used to create a vivid setting. How does Crump make the setting come alive. WHY does he do this? What is he trying to make us realise about the setting in relation to the main characters.
– Refer to notes on introductions as a starting point. What does your intro need? Jot down some ideas for each point you want to cover and start writing.
– Pay attention to spelling and grammar as you go by reading your work back to see if it makes sense.
– Feel free to ask me for help with planning
